About the event
This is a three day retreat for men who sense that something essential has been lost in how masculinity is usually lived and expressed. Not because men are broken, but because most of us have learned to live from a tight, defensive sense of self that makes life revolve around “me”. My work is not about becoming a better version of that self, but about seeing through it. When that happens, something far more natural begins to move.
When the ego loosens its grip, life is no longer lived mainly for personal gain, validation, or protection of identity. Many men discover a quiet devotion to something larger than themselves. This can show up as dedication to craft, creativity, fatherhood, truth, service, or protection of what matters. Not as a moral duty, but as a natural orientation. Energy that was tied up in self concern becomes available for life itself.
Another central theme of the retreat is stability. Not emotional suppression, and not emotional overwhelm, but the capacity to stay present with what is felt. When emotions are no longer taken personally, they can move without hijacking behavior. This often brings a deep sense of groundedness. A man who can feel fully without collapsing or acting out becomes someone others feel safe around, including himself.
We will also explore relating, including sexuality, from a place that is not driven by grasping or lack. When the sense of deficiency softens, connection changes. Less strategy, less performance, less need to get something. More presence, honesty, and sensitivity. This applies to intimate relationships, friendships, and how we meet people in general.
Finally, the retreat points to a kind of strength that does not rely on tension. Clear boundaries without aggression. Openness without passivity. The ability to say yes and no cleanly. This strength does not need to prove itself. It is felt rather than asserted.
Nothing here is taught as an ideal to live up to. We are not working on fixing men or shaping them into a new model of masculinity. The focus is on removing what distorts what is already there. When false assumptions about who we are fall away, healthy masculinity tends to emerge on its own.

The Place
The retreat takes place at Narumi Retreat Center, north of Uppsala, Sweden—a peaceful sanctuary surrounded by forests, open fields, and unspoiled nature. On clear nights, the Milky Way stretches across the sky, and if we're lucky, the northern lights may even make an appearance.
The facilities embody a simple, traditional Swedish countryside style, offering a quiet and grounding atmosphere. A favorite gathering spot is the campfire area, perfect for reflection and connection, while the outdoor spa bath provides a soothing space to unwind.

Food & Drinks
Food will be tasty, healthy and customized to the group attending. Meals are generally rich in protein, of detoxing nature and often inspired by Indian, Persian, and Italian kitchens. Depending on season, we might add a meal or two based on what nature provides during that time, cooked from scratch together as a group.
The center’s pure well water is naturally fresh and far superior to city water—don’t forget to fill your bottle before you leave!
